Dried and Diced Figs are mostly demanded by bakeries, catering services and muesli producers. Because they are used in final products, some issues are of particular importance in the production of these figs.

Since ancient times, figs have been a source of prosperity for Turkish farmers. The country is a long-established leader in the production and exportation of the fruit, as 80% of the world’s figs are grown in the fertile soils of western Anatolia. QUALITY

Dried figs have the danger of containing Aflatoxin B1. Aflatoxin B1 is a natural toxin produced by the fungi Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus Parasiticus. Regular exposure to this toxin is known to cause liver cancer. This is why all dried figs are controlled for Aflatoxin B1 before the dicing process. A final lab analysis is also performed on the diced Figs continuously. Because these dices are incorporated in end products with other materials, it is impossible to remove solid materials from this product once they are used. As such, we check the raw material for foreign materials of plant and non-plant origin before and after dicing with visual and x-ray controls. Stalks of the fruit are also removed from the fruit before production.

Moreover, we ensure no dead insects are present in the figs through CO2 fumigation. We also guarantee that the rice flour we use during the cutting process is GMO and gluten free, and that it only makes up 5% of the product. We can produce different dice sizes ranging from 3 to 12 mm.
